That said, there are a number of islands throughout the Caribbean with trails that will make you work up a sweat. The best Caribbean Islands for ‘mountainous’ hiking are volcanic in nature and include Dominica, Jamaica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Guadeloupe, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Vincent and Grenada. FYI – Some volcanoes on the Windward islands of Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenada are still active today.
Other islands that have decent ‘mountainous’ hiking can be found in the lesser known or visited Leeward islands and include Montserrat, Saba and St. Eustatius.
