Some of the best Grenada dive sites off the South-West Coast include (from North to South):

  • Purple Rain Reef
    • This dive site ranges in depth from 25 to 80 feet (7-25m) and features large schools of purple coloured creole wrasse, hence the name of the site.  There’s also plenty of other fish, along with a variety of coral, colourful large sponges, turtles, rays, eels and lobster. An ideal dive site for experienced drift divers.
  • Quarantine Reef
    • This dive site ranges in depth between 40 to 70 feet (13-21m) and features a variety of aquatic life.
  • Shakem Shipwreck
    • The 180-foot freighter can be explored in 50 to 100 feet (15-30m) of water and features swim-throughs of an unstripped/intact ship covered in black coral, gorgonians, sponges and sea fans, frequented by eels. Due to the depth and strong currents, this dive site is recommended for advanced divers only. Great site for underwater photography.
  • Kahonee Reef
    • This dive site ranges in depth from 30 to 45 feet (10-13m) and features a colourful garden of hard & soft corals, gorgonians, sponges and sea fans along with fish, lobsters and eels, as well as the occasional turtle and shark. A great dive site for beginners and underwater photography.
  • Black Forest
    • This dive site ranges in depth from 40 to 90 feet (12-30m)
  • Spotter’s Reef
    • This dive site ranges in depth from 45 to 170 feet (14-50m)
  • Dr. Grooms
    • This dive site ranges in depth from 30 to 60 feet (10-20m) and features corals, gorgonians and sea fans with a variety of crustaceans as well as eels, fish and sharks. A good dive site for beginners and underwear photography.
  • Boulder City
    • This dive site ranges in depth from 20 to 45 feet (5-15m)
  • Kapsis Shipwreck
    • A yacht can be found in the reef and features a variety of marine life, including turtles, rays and sharks. Due to the strong currents, this dive site is recommended for advanced divers only.
