Bonaire’s 2020 Festival & Events Calendar:
The Cultural Event ‘Nos Zjilea’ takes place throughout the year at Rincon’s Cultural Park Mangazina di Rei. Enjoy local arts & crafts, plants & vegetables as well as educational presentations. There’s also plenty of food and music. Dates are: January 25; February 29; March 28; April; May 30; June 27; July 25; August 29; September 26; October 31; November 28; and December 26
February is Bonaire’s Carnival month:
- February 15 is Rincon’s Children Carnival Parade
- February 16 is Kralendijk’s Children Carnival Parade (The Grand Parade encompasses all of the island’s carnival groups).
- February 21 is Teener (High School) Carnival Parade In Kralendijk
- February 22 is Rincon’s Gran Carnival Parade – Local musicians play carnival with the costumed marchers.
- February 23 is Gran Carnival Parade In Playa (Kralendijk) Bonaire’s largest parade involves music, floats and plenty of fanciful costumes
- February 24 is Carnival Monday
- February 25 – The ‘carnival’ wraps up with a parade in Kralendijk and the ceremonial burning of “King Momito”.
The Taste of Bonaire, where you can sample local food, culture and handicrafts, is held throughout the year at Wilhelmina Park in the island’s capital, Kralendijk
- March 7 – Ban Topa Edition
- April 3 – Culture Edition
- June 6 – Talent Edition
- July 4 – Summer Edition
- August 1 – Recycle Edition
- September 5 – Real Taste of Bonaire
- September 26 – Tourism Day
- November 7 – Healthy
The Simadan (Harvest) Festival Rincon is on April 13
The King’s Birthday (Official Holiday) celebrations will be held on April 27 2020 in Kralendijk.
The Dia di Rincon takes place on April 30 – Celebrate the oldest town of the Dutch Caribbean with local cuisine, music and traditional dances
Bonaire Flag Day will be held on September 6 – This is a local holiday where the entire island celebrates with food and dance on the streets to live entertainment. Another major event involves hundreds of folks from around the world participating in a motorcycle ride that tours the island.
The annual Swim To Klein Bonaire will be held on October 4 at Eden Beach Resort (starting point)
The 53rd Bonaire Sailing Regatta takes place from October 7 through 10 and involves multiple sailboat divisions.
The Bonaire Christmas Shopping Night / Fiesta Di Bari takes place on December 19. Visitors have the opportunity to shop Kaya Grandi’s ‘deals’, watch a Christmas Themed Parade and taste local Christmas dishes.
