2020 Cayman Islands Carnival, Festival & Events Calendar:


The Cayman Cookout is January 16 to 19 on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach – The 4-day event features celebrity chefs, cooking demonstrations, tastings, tours, dinners, Food & Drink pairings and unique epicurean experiences.

The Cayman Islands National Festival of Arts or ‘Cayfest‘, has events from January through March that features locally produced films, concerts, as well as arts and crafts shows and even storytelling. Events include:

  • February 20 – The National Arts and Culture Awards
  • February 29 – Red Sky at Night Festival (Food, Music, Theatre and Dance)
  • March 13 – Dress For Culture Day
  • TBC – Gimistory is an International Storytelling Festival where Professional storytellers from all over the world talk about their heritage, myths and legends…

The Taste of Cayman is on April 6 at Camana Bay, Grand Cayman. This Food and Drink Festival is held at a number of local restaurants.

Cayman Carnival Activities Include:

  • May 2nd – The Junior Batabano Street Parade & Family Fun Day
  • May 7 through 10 – The Cayman Carnival Batabano features parades with music, dance and colourful costumes as well as local food vendors. This year’s schedule includes:
    • May 7 – Le Masque Ball at Pedro St James Castle
    • May 8 – Batabano Friday Night Fete “Outta De Blue” at Harbour Drive, George Town
    • May 9 – Cayman Carnival Batabano Street Parade (Public Beach to Harbour Drive); Batabano Last Lap at Harbour Drive, George Town; Batabano Food Festival at Cardinal Avenue, George Town
    • May 10 – Boating at Rum Point
  • The CayMas Carnival‘s celebration of Caribbean Culture and will take place from May 14 to 18.

The Cayman Billfish Rundown will happen May 19 to 23. This year’s international fishing tournament ambassador is Carey Chen.

The annual Flowers Sea Swim, benefiting the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, takes place June 13 – 15 and includes a One Mile Sea Swim and 3k & 10k Sea Swims.

Cayman Cocktail Week takes place in October, with a number of fun and interactive events

The annual Cayman Islands Pirates Week Festival will be on November 6 to 22 in George Town. The Caribbean’s premier pirates festival is also the Cayman Islands’ largest national event covering Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Events include parades, costume contests, scavenger hunts, street parties, and boat races.

The Cayman Islands Triathlon typically takes place every November.

The Cayman Islands Marathon will be held on December 8. The event consists of a full marathon, half marathon, 4-person relay and a Kids Fun Run, all along the glorious Caribbean sea.
