Barbados Travel Information – Adventures & Things to Do
Barbados sits alone as the most easterly island in the Caribbean! While situated in the Lesser Antilles’ Windward Islands, Barbados is a coral based island distinct from it’s volcanic neighbours to the west, St. Lucia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The island is shaped like a foot, with a length of about 21 miles (34 km) and a width of 14 miles (23 km) at the widest point in the south.
While best known for it’s English heritage, white sandy beaches, cute moke vehicles and being the birthplace of rum (as well as the grapefruit), Barbados is also home to nature reserves, gardens, caves, monkeys, turtles and several excellent golf courses. A Barbados vacation has plenty to offer travelers seeking action in the sea and on land. There’s plenty of snorkeling, water-sports, fishing, sailing, caving, hiking, biking and more…
